ICQPodcast Reaches 300 Show Milestone
Back in 2008, a father and son team decided to experiment with a new publishing technology - podcasting.
They committed to publishing ten shows and see if anyone was listening.
Since that decision eleven years ago, the show has gone from strength to strength. With listeners in over 120
countries enjoying the fortnightly published show along with accompanying website
The team has grown too, joining the pair, a team passionate amateurs across Europe and “over the pond”
from North America, one thing that has been core to the show’s success is a friendly, radio club feel about the
topics discussed and the technical knowledge sharing.
“It is amazing the amount of technical and operating knowledge there is between the presenting team”
comments Technical Editor Martin Butler M1MRB. “As I learn something each episode, I’m sure our listeners
also gain a technical nugget or two along with the banter and enjoyment of being at a virtual radio club”
2019 has been a busy year, with attendance planned at UK Hamfest and HF Convention along with attending
Ham Radio 2019 and Hamvention in Ohio USA.
“We are always on the lookout for new stories, it’s great to hear about what other amateurs are achieving in
the hobby,” says Founding Editor Colin Butler M6BOY. “If you would like to promote yourselves, let us know”
